Koffi Olomide’s Disagreement with TP Mazembe over ‘Visit Rwanda’ Sponsorship
Koffi Olomide opposed TP Mazembe for refusing to wear the “Visit Rwanda” brand, one of the sponsors of the African Super League.
During his appearance on the “Le Panier” show on RTNC, Quadra Koraman expressed a different opinion from what the Congolese public thinks about this brand from Paul Kagame’s country.
According to Grand Mopao, the Luchist crows are not wearing “Visit Rwanda” out of pleasure but because it’s one of the official sponsors of the league they are engaged in.
“I don’t want to offend people, but my opinion is contrary. This is football; we are in sponsorship. When we wear the ‘Visit Rwanda’ brand, it’s not for pleasure but rather to respect the rules of the league we have joined,” said Dobolo King.
In contrast to Papa Rapa, many Congolese believe that Moise Katumbi’s beloved club did the right thing by remaining firm and not complying with CAF’s demands to wear this brand.
According to them, Rwanda is the base for the conflict in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, supporting certain negative forces, such as the M23 rebels.
It’s worth noting that TP Mazembe will play against Esperance de Tunis on Sunday, October 22, in Dar es Salaam in the quarter-finals of the African Super League.
